HTML stands for Hyper Text Mark-up Language. In mid 1993 the first draft was created by Tim Berners-Lee. The latest version is HTML 5.
HTML is the standard mark-up language for Web pages.
HTML elements are the building blocks of HTML pages.
HTML elements are represented by < > tags.
Purpose
HTML describes the structure of a web page. HTML marks up the parts of the page that are headings, paragraphs, hyperlinks etc.
